It seems the risky and controversial decision to decriminalize all drugs in Portugal has been a success. In the past ten years, Portugal has seen drug use and abuse down by half.
Not only has this put the control of drug distribution in the government's hands, but they were able to help addicts overcome their problems. Portugal is currently helping over 40,000 addicts recover.
