I remember when Pokemon erupted in North America, and being truly in awe. I remember buying my first booster packs, and trading my Dratini card for a Haunter. I remember waiting while all of my friends had either Red or Blue version for the Pikachu-themed Gameboy and Pokemon yellow. I remember watching Ash's journey from day 1 to the Pokemon League and beyond...

That was all years ago, but I still have a lot of the passion that I had when I first laid eyes on that cute, yellow rodent. Since then, I've played just about every main game (albeit I took a hiatus in Gen 3), some gems such as Snap, Stadium, TCG, Pinball... the list goes on. I battled competitively for a while, and even uploaded some battles to youtube.

Nowadays I generally spend my 'Pokemon time' playing ROMs and thinking about how I want to march over to Japan to tell Satoshi Tajiri all about my ideas for a brand new, amazing, complex game.

Anyway, I stumbled onto these Forums and wow there are tons of sub-forums. Will have to slowly check each of them out. Thanks for listening (I feel like an old man preaching about casette tapes to kids who only know Blu-Ray haha). But I'm sure there are tons of people here who were around for the good days, when every person - regardless of age, gender, etc. - was an aspiring Pokemon master, and when a typical "Poke battle" was "I have Charizard, I win."
